Now is the Age of the Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1-13

We observe the Barley Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday once a year.

Please examine how much you have lived a life that glorifies God.

Please give thanks as you reflect on what God has bestowed upon our family and business.

The term "Maekchu Gamsam" literally means to give thanks for harvesting barley.

It started with the festivals observed by the people of Israel.

If you look at Exodus chapter 23, it says that they were commanded to observe the feasts three times a year.

You are probably already familiar with this.

We are required to observe Passover, the Feast of Harvest, and the Feast of Tabernacles.

These three seasons hold great significance.

Living a life of faith means believing in reality here.

The blessing of Passover is to fully enjoy the fact that Christ has solved all the problems of our lives.

The last plague that fell upon Egypt was the plague of striking the firstborn.

At this time, the blood of the lamb on the doorposts saved from this plague.

The solid way to tear down the twelve strong towers spread out by Satan is none other than Jesus Christ.

This is the very blessing of the Passover.

The Feast of Tabernacles was a festival to give thanks for the grain stored after finishing the year's harvest.

The blessing of the Feast of Tabernacles is that our background is the Kingdom of God.

The saved children of God are citizens of heaven.

It is enjoying a life of faith while enjoying the background of being a citizen of heaven.

The Feast of Harvest has several names, and it is also called the Feast of Weeks because it is 77 days after the end of Passover.

It is also called Pentecost because it is observed 50 days after Passover.

According to the Book of Acts, the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the Upper Room was Pentecost.

The Holy Spirit descended today on Pentecost, the Sunday of the Harvest Thanksgiving.

Through this Pentecost and Harvest Festival, we must realize how grateful and blessed this is.

The blessing of Pentecost is the filling of the Holy Spirit, and the blessing of the Feast of Tabernacles is the Kingdom of God.

We can see God's amazing plan through the blessings of the three seasons.

We can see that through the feasts, God is enjoying various things, such as the fullness of the Holy Spirit of the Kingdom of God.

It is the essence of the life of faith.

It contains God's special message to live a life of these three onlys.

Observing the various seasons means living with unchanging gratitude throughout the year.

It means to build a watchtower of gratitude and live.

Living with gratitude is giving thanks to God.

May true gratitude come to you through the Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday.

Acts Chapter 2, which we will examine today, is a very important part.

Through Acts chapter 1, Jesus emphasized the essential life of God's children.

We must go all-in and focus on our lives through these three "onlys": Christ alone, the Kingdom of God alone, and the fullness of the Holy Spirit alone.

This is the Covenant of Mount Calvary, the Covenant of Mount Olives.

Jesus emphasized the importance of a life in which this covenant is established.

It is very important to what extent the three covenants are set in my life.

He conveyed the message that it must be delivered across regions and ethnicities.

What is the key point?

It is only the Holy Spirit.

It means that only when the Holy Spirit comes do you receive that power and live a life of a witness.

It means that only by receiving that power can one live the life of a witness.

So what did I do? I held onto the covenant and prayed intently until the Holy Spirit came.

Something amazing happened. As they prayed intently, the covenant was fulfilled.

Today's content is the covenant in which that covenant was fulfilled.

We are also living in the Age of the Holy Spirit right now.

I pray in the name of the Lord that through today's message, you will reflect on why the Holy Spirit was sent to us and why He was sent on the special day of Pentecost.

Getting to the main point, the first is the Holy Spirit who came on Pentecost.

He told us to wait for what He had promised before He ascended.

Then, He said, "After how many days have passed, receive new life through the Holy Spirit."

There are a few days when that day came. They are Pentecost and Passover.

This means that the fulfillment of the covenant in Acts chapters 1 and 8 has begun in earnest.

There is something I am especially grateful for.

In the Old Testament era, the Holy Spirit would descend upon specific people whom God had entrusted with the task, and then disappear.

However, the Holy Spirit, who accepted Jesus as Christ, is still present to this day.

He is with us forever.

It is important not only as the Kingdom of God but also as a life of faith.

He said that He would send the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, to you.

He said that the Holy Spirit will always be with us.

The Holy Spirit is with us.

The Holy Spirit is guiding us.

We come to experience the indwelling and guidance of the Holy Spirit realistically in the field.

The life of faith is to realistically experience the indwelling and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

I believe this is the flavor and life of the life of faith.

Luke specifically explained how the Upper Room of Mark came about on Pentecost.

The expression that it happened suddenly was here.

In other words, the descent of the Holy Spirit is the only thing God has given us.

Looking at the text, the Holy Spirit is likened to wind coming from heaven.

A sound like a sudden, strong wind.

It means that a powerful wind suddenly blew, and a force as powerful as the sound came upon them.

What does this mean?

The wind of the Holy Spirit blew, and the covenant of re-creation took place.

It happened just as life came to Adam.

The covenant of creation, through which God's livelihood comes, has come.

The solution is found in the Book of Ezekiel.

They lived and formed a large army.

After that, the power to revive life came upon me.

If the Holy Spirit is not present, it is absolutely impossible to become a disciple of Christ.

If there is no one who gives life, there can be no life.

It cannot be effectively conveyed without His power.

Isn't a body without breath simply a corpse? I believe that our church is a living, active church.

Do you feel it?

There is a second reason why the Holy Spirit was sent.

It just appeared on each person.

Looking at the original Greek text, it indicated that it did not appear briefly and then disappear, but remained continuously.

Because of this appearance, the Holy Spirit's strength is misunderstood as being hot and sensual.

At this time today, the Holy Spirit will come upon everything you have.

Even if you cannot see it, what the text emphasizes is that something splitting apart like fire came upon each person individually.

Everyone, in the past, the Holy Spirit came only to specific people.

This changed after Jesus's work of redemption.

The Holy Spirit is the master and governs, and the Holy Spirit reflects my thoughts and opinions.

Therefore, being filled with the Holy Spirit means having the thoughts God desires, speaking the words God desires, and doing the actions God desires.

In the text, there was something that appeared immediately after receiving the filling of the Holy Spirit.

Looking at verse 11, the Holy Spirit came as he began to speak.

God's great work has come.

It was speaking of salvation through Jesus Christ.

It refers to Christ, who resolved the three curses that humans could not resolve on their own, all at once.

You rescued us from a fate where we were destined to die forever.

In other words, it is a confession that Jesus is the Christ.

As I meditated on this part, I truly came to experience God's amazing power.

Isn't that surprising?

So they were shocked.

I believe that it was given so that all 237 countries can be saved.

God sent not only these Jews but also over 2 million people of various ethnicities.

I believe you sent this because we cannot go.

What we need is not money or honor, but the filling of the Holy Spirit.

Anything is possible through the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

I am going to a multi-ethnic camp in Wonju, Gangwon-do.

As I realized that I am not doing this by my own strength and ability, but that the fullness of the Holy Spirit is enough, the burden on my heart has lessened and the weight has become lighter.

I was excited at the thought of meeting the diverse ethnic groups there.

The freedom to freely convey the Gospel will come to us as much as we want.

We do not know how the Holy Spirit will work right now.

However, the clear key is the disciple.

You can feel the fullness of the Holy Spirit when you focus on making disciples.

I bless you to enjoy this and be filled with the Holy Spirit for the week.

This is the conclusion.

It describes the disciples, filled with the Holy Spirit, as looking as if they were drunk.

If you look at Ephesians 5:18, it says not to get drunk.

This is a commandment, meaning to be filled only with the Holy Spirit.

It is interesting to compare being drunk with being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Are there any of you who can relate?

First, people become more talkative when they are drunk. Even taciturn people who usually say nothing become talkative when they are intoxicated.

That is the case even when filled with the Holy Spirit.

Whenever I open my mouth, I talk about grace without rest.

Stories of grace pour out ceaselessly.

Don't drunk people repeat themselves?

Even those filled with the Holy Spirit keep repeating only one thing: 'Jesus is the Christ and the solver of all problems.'

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit who testifies to Jesus Christ.

Therefore, if you are filled with the Holy Spirit, I believe the Holy Spirit will testify.

Secondly, when you get drunk, you become bold.

Are you out of your mind?

A person who had absolutely no interest in a certain area suddenly becomes extremely interested.

Likewise, if you take it for the third time every day, you become addicted.

If you become addicted to alcohol, your life becomes ruined. However, if you become addicted to the Holy Spirit, the exact opposite happens.

If you become addicted to the Holy Spirit, you can live a life enjoying the power of the Holy Spirit.

May you be filled with the Holy Spirit and intoxicated by the fullness of the Holy Spirit.

I bless you to be used wonderfully as a leading player in the Age of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you, Lord, for giving us the Holy Spirit as a gift.

We offered worship with grateful hearts to celebrate Barley Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday.

May the work of the Holy Spirit who has come today enable us to raise up disciples and sustain this work.

Please let us receive evidence that many things are being restored.

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
