To test Abraham
Genesis 22:16-19
As I listened to the choir's praise today, I was reminded of the words of Genesis chapter 31.
Originally, God created all things, and after creating man in His image, He commanded him to be fruitful, multiply, rule, and subdue.
We must become a nation that is very good in God's sight, and a church that is beautiful in God's sight.
However, I could not become such a beautiful human being.
The sight of the nation becoming unattractive in God's sight, and the scene of suffering due to war, all kinds of idols, and mental problems, was a sight that was deeply unattractive in God's eyes.
I hope you dream of the young people of our church rising up, holding onto the covenant, and going out into the world.
When many people fall ill, they ask me to cure their illness. When they are struggling financially, they ask me to help them earn money and succeed.
But what is the real disease?
What is the use of being healthy?
What is the use of living for 100 years?
What is the use of your children going to a good university and getting a job, succeeding, and earning a lot of money?
I mean, they don't know God.
Are humans beings who live on this earth merely to eat and then pass away? Isn't that not the case?
However, there are countless people who have turned away from God, do not even know why disasters strike, and live as slaves, deceived by the devil.
We heard the words of Jesus Christ and became children of God.
I still come before God and ask Him to heal my illness.
If we pray for our children to succeed, how is that different from disobedience?
Then why do problems, tribulations, or persecution sometimes come to God's saved children?
Or, something completely incomprehensible may occur.
God, why do we face financial difficulties or get sick when we believe in Jesus?
One day, Joseph is dragged away as a slave without having done anything wrong, and unjustly framed and sent to prison.
Even we would have asked, "Why am I going to become a slave? I have done nothing wrong, so why have I gone to prison?" But Joseph was not like that.
In fact, I have let go of this ministry. However, as I quietly reflected on the past, I came to examine myself regarding the fact that I had lived wrongly, that I had done wrong, and whether I truly believe that I am Jesus Christ.
"God, please let the rest of my life be lived as an evangelist, truly living with You."
I had a small experience yesterday.
I received a call from the person in charge of the water purifier. They contacted me saying that the water purifier had expired and needed to be replaced. The person is in their early 40s, so I asked if they believe in Jesus. They replied that they do believe in Jesus and attend Okcheon Presbyterian Church.
He says he has an 8-year-old child and is married.
However, it is said that they divorced.
When I asked if that was the conviction of believing in Jesus, he preached the gospel there afterwards.
This is no coincidence. It is a matter of the 25th hour that the Gospel is witnessed to the people you meet in your field.
God's concern is not whether you live well or poorly on this earth, but that the work of life in the field must take place through you.
It must be accomplished not by our own strength or effort, but by God's covenant and power.
If you are truly God's saved children, and if God is the Almighty Jehovah, didn't it say that Jesus is the Christ and the solver of all problems?
However, while we frequently confess that the Lord is the Christ, the Son of God, claiming that God's power and my power have nothing to do with each other and that this is the end of all problems, there are many who think that what I possess and what God possesses are unrelated when problems or crises actually arise.
My goal is simply success and rice cakes.
Does this align with God?
Is this in accordance with God? It is not.
We cannot do big or great things.
God did not tell us to do great things, to accomplish great deeds, or to dedicate everything we have.
Why do you work on-site from morning till evening?
I work to feed my children.
Are you going to live your one and only life like this and then leave?
For our lives to become our future lives, we must have the Horeb Mountain experience.
We must become the experience of the Mount of Olives and the Upper Room.
Everyone, religious people are simply people who go to church.
A religious person is a wish fulfillment.
We are not religious people.
Jesus Christ gave us the Gospel, not religion.
Religious people say, "Please ensure there are no difficulties."
The problems facing religious people are all simple problems.
It is all a problem. This is a sign of a curse.
However, if you are truly saved children of God, then every difficulty, crisis, conflict, or tribulation that comes your way is an opportunity.
This keeps stabbing.
Some people call it epilepsy, and I prayed to God because of this.
It means that I did it so that God's grace might rest upon you.
God did not give such difficulties to the Apostle Paul to torment him or to cause him trouble.
It can only be broken when God's power comes upon it.
The power of the Apostle Paul cannot overcome darkness.
You cannot stop the power of the field.
You must know God's purpose without relying on your own background, so that God's power may dwell within you and you may look only to God.
He tested Abraham using Isaac.
My son is a servant of the Lord. When my son was sick, an evangelist told me the story of Genesis chapter 22 and explained that it was God's plan to plant a covenant.
Why did God do this?
Why did God make Zabrak, Meshach, and Abednego enter the lion's den and the fiery furnace?
There are so many things in the world that we simply cannot explain.
In the world, not only God's trials but also the devil's trials come.
There is a lot of Satan's interference in this matter.
That is why it is said in the Lord's Prayer.
Satan continues to sow unbelief, blaming it on sin. As you worry like this, you end up falling into it and dying.
However, even among non-believers, there are those who resolve issues through positive thinking, such as being very positive and exercising.
But God lives in it.
God's power must come upon us.
You must realize that God is truly alive and that God is truly almighty.
You must make this decision. Isn't that all it takes?
One day you die, and it could be hell.
No matter how much the population of this land shouts that there is no God, God is alive.
God is the One who governs human life, death, and blessings.
We may have no faith, we may become frustrated, and we may stumble over Satan.
You must revere God.
This is because we need God's power.
There are also people who stumble and fall in this test from God.
I hope all the saints of this Nations Mission Church pass God's test.
If you pass this, the devil gives up on you.
Sometimes, people talk back to God at the slightest difficulty. However, no one who has talked back to God has ever been used by Him.
David thought that the Lord is his strength and his refuge.
If Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had bowed down to the idol, they would not have had to enter the furnace of fire. However, because they did not bow down to the idol at all, they ended up entering it.
The one who gave is Jehovah, and the one who harms is Jehovah.
Who among you could have such faith in a desperate moment?
It was Satan who gave up.
I have given many lectures on the Bible and Genesis.
God blessed Jacob to the very end, even though he was so lacking and made so many mistakes.
God stays with those who have the covenant until the end.
He appeared before Aphraham, who had no name.
The most urgent problem for humans is food, clothing, and shelter.
Abraham also made mistakes twice.
However, God helped there.
She also became unable to have children.
Despite mobilizing every human means, it turned out to be a promise different from Jacob's.
Please think about it. How deeply moved, grateful, and full of "Hallelujah" must they have been?
Today, Genesis Chapter 22 describes what God did to test Abraham after this event.
Take Isaac to the land of Moriah, to the land I spoke of, the land I directed you to, and offer him there as a burnt offering.
From a human perspective, it is simply incomprehensible.
When accepting God's word, will you refuse to accept what does not align with your own thoughts, and instead judge arbitrarily based on your own thinking?
You may lament or wonder why, after having a son and celebrating Hallelujah, he is offering him as a burnt offering.
However, Abraham did not object to this and followed it anyway.
He split wood for the burnt offering and rose early in the morning and went to the place God had told him about.
When do you wake up early in the morning? You wake up when something good happens. You wake up early when going on a picnic or leaving for a fun place, but Abraham didn't oversleep; he woke up early.
I left the house without telling my wife.
Our faith is sometimes alone.
My wife did not accompany me.
Those who accompanied him were servants.
When we were at the foot of the mountain, I told the servants to stay here. I left the servant here and went.
Because at the crucial moment, someone might ask if he was crazy and if he could really sacrifice his child, he left them at the bottom of the mountain and only Abraham and Isaac went up.
A beloved wife or husband can be an obstacle or hindrance to approaching God.
As they go up, his son Isaac asks, "We have wood, fire, and a sword, but where is the offering?"
God must have prepared the sacrifice.
And, if you look at verse 5, everything is listed there.
He said to the servants, "We will offer sacrifices, and we will return to you."
Abraham believed in God that he would be able to return like Isaac.
It means that you must be filled with the Holy Spirit and raise your children.
Everyone, Abraham passed God's test. He passed.
When Abraham went up to the land God had promised him and placed his son on the altar to slaughter him, how do you think Abraham felt?
He tied up his son, held a knife, and tried to stab him.
The angel of the LORD called to Abraham urgently. "Do nothing to him, for it is not too precious to offer even your son to me."
If God takes them away, everything you have in this world is useless.
God said to Abraham, "I know that you revere me."
I deserved to be cursed or destroyed, but Jesus died in my place.
Those who are not saved are children of wrath.
No matter how much you love a child, if they are not saved, they are all children of wrath.
Are you just going to watch, everyone?
Looking at John 1:29, John told Jesus to look at Him who carries the world.
He bore all the sins of our humanity on the cross.
God said to Abraham, "I will greatly bless you, and your descendants will greatly possess this land."
Everyone, please look at today's scripture. What does this mean? The meaning that God's word was important is that they believed in the works God does.
Ultimately, God's purpose is that God's covenant will surely be fulfilled.
World evangelization through Christ is the most important thing.
If our church has absolutely nothing to do with world evangelization, then our church is unnecessary.
He spoke to Abraham. He conveyed that your purpose is to experience God's power and to pass on the covenant to your son, Isaac.
Please repeat after me. "I am a person of the covenant." "I am a person to be used for world evangelization."
No matter how much we join forces, world evangelization is impossible. It is impossible without the power of God.
Under no circumstances must you forget the Gospel 24 Hours.
God's absolute plan is for the covenant to be conveyed to you, His beloved children.
No matter how much you love your children, if you cannot change their destiny, they are the devil's children.
This is God's will. I hope you hold onto this covenant, pass the test, and become a servant of the Lord used by Him in an era.
Thank God.
Please let this word become the word of God given to me, and please let it be conveyed to my children.
I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
