Who do you say that I am?
Matthew 16:13-20
You are the one who remains. Welcome.
God has called you to come to this place.
May you be filled with God's grace.
I bless you to become a leading figure in the field who gains spiritual strength, receives answers, and wins.
As we go through life, we ask ourselves many questions.
Sometimes we ask questions, and sometimes we are asked questions.
The Bible asks many important questions.
Among them, I consider three questions important.
First, Genesis 3:9.
God created heaven and earth, made all things, and created human beings.
God asked man, 'Where am I?'
This question is asking me exactly where my spiritual current address is.
This question forces us to examine our own spiritual condition.
Of course, we must be in God, and we are safest when we are in God.
But when we leave God, we become disconnected from Him and problems begin.
I need to check where I am now.
Matthew 16:15: "Who do you say I am?" This question is incredibly important.
This is a question about the entire gospel.
You asked me the question, “Who am I?”
This question is the root of our faith.
So today, in the midst of worship, I hope this question will be asked in your hearts.
Please think about who you think God is and think about the answer He wants.
The last question is from John 15.
Jesus came to Peter, who had betrayed him. He could have scolded him or scolded him, but instead, he asked a different question.
“Do you love me?” Peter answered, “Yes.”
God loves us so much that he created us in his image.
As soon as man fell, God saved him once again as a man of God.
He also asks Peter an important question and gives him an important mission.
'Feed your lambs.'
'Feed my lambs.'
This week in particular, Jesus asks us a question: "Who do you say that I am?"
Getting to the point, who do people know Jesus as?
Jesus asks his disciples, "Who do people say that I am?"
The Jesus they know is also called John the Baptist.
John the Baptist was such a wonderful person.
John the Baptist reformed justice.
I knew at a glance that John the Baptist was the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament.
Jesus also loved these Israelites.
Seeing this, I also thought it was Jeremiah.
Some also thought of Jesus as one of the prophets.
Because Jesus' work was to proclaim and teach the word of God.
People confessed that Jesus was a truly great and wonderful person, but no one confessed that Jesus was the Christ.
When we think of Christianity, we often think of doing good deeds and kind things.
It makes you miss the essence.
There were also those who viewed Jesus as a religious leader, using him to satisfy their physical desires.
"Jesus is the Christ. Christ is my Lord."
There is a difference between respecting Jesus, thinking highly of Him, and confessing Him as Christ.
Faith is not a matter of opinion, but of confession.
Confession is very important in the life of faith.
If you can see Christ alive in the lives of others, then you have achieved success.
I asked Peter a question. People thought they could think that way.
I thought I could think like this because I lived in that kind of environment.
But I asked my beloved disciple Peter a question.
He asked Peter, 'Who do you say that I am?'
Peter answered, "Christ"
Jesus said it depends on what kind of confession you are making.
I hope you will come to this conclusion today: 'Jesus is the Christ.'
Jesus did not come with physical success or physical works.
A spirit that has left God is ruled by evil spirits.
He sent his only begotten son Jesus to this earth.
Someone asked the pastor a question and mentioned that it reminded him of the past.
Don't dwell on the hurt. It's all over.
There must be God's guarantee for the future as well.
God died on the cross and was resurrected, and God's Spirit is now with us.
If you are praying for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I believe that you are praying by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Even if you boast about the church, Jesus is Christ.
So, every Sunday, you must make your own confession.
To all saints and all of you, I believe that this confession is the most fundamental confession of faith.
Our religious life is built on the confession of faith.
Churches are also built to confess faith.
'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'
You are the one who came to fulfill the Word. This is a tremendous statement.
Your life will depend on what you do here.
Peter came to the realization that the Lord wanted, not the answer that many thought.
From this confession onward, all attention was directed to Peter.
When does Jesus rejoice? When the confession of faith is successful.
It is entirely by the power of God that we come to know Jesus as Christ.
On this rock I will build my church.
Where is the Lord's church built? It is built on the confession of faith that confesses Jesus.
It is important to build on a correct confession of faith.
He has truly established our church on the foundation of a confession of faith that the kingdom of God is only through Christ, and has made it a solid tower that transmits light and salt to this region.
There is a mission and power given to the disciples who have this confession.
'I give you the keys to heaven.'
He said that those who believe in Christ are given the mission to spread the word of Christ.
This confession does not end with just a confession, but determines the direction and life of one's life.
We must be able to align our lives and the direction of our lives upon this confession.
We must truly be able to communicate and evangelize Christ and spread this mission.
We really need to remember this today: 'Who do you really say that I am?'
'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'
Dear saints, the key must be used.
We must remember the tremendous power and mission we have to convey God's gospel to God's children.
Bottom line: The most important thing is that Jesus did the work of Christ.
Through this work of Christ you have been completely saved.
Will you not give us everything?
It is written in Colossians 2:3.
Because of everything, we are able to discover this value.
The life of a person who confesses Jesus as Christ will be of the utmost value.
So, by enjoying this mystery of Jesus Christ every day, I was able to gain confidence upon confidence.
As someone who has been saved, I must make the purpose of my life evangelizing.
Please let us begin with the correct confession of faith.
The Lord is Christ, my Lord.
You are my God.
'The Lord is my Christ.' 'Jesus is my Lord and my God.'
I hope that this confession will be fully confessed in your lives and that you will be restored to faith.
I really think it's important that you all come to a conclusion about the gospel.
As you enjoy the gospel, you must find a reason to walk with God.
Thank you, God. I thank you for allowing me to confess not the Christ the world knows, but the answer that pleases you most: "You are the Son of the living God." I thank you for allowing this confession to become my own.
Please help us discover the value of the gospel and live a life for the gospel.
Please help me to handle the keys of heaven well.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.
