lifelong partner

Acts 18:1-4

Thank you for the gracious praise.

I will greet the people next to me. "You are an evangelist."

Success in worship is success in life.

I pray in the name of the Lord that today will be a blessed time for you to receive the greatest grace as you confirm the answer God has prepared.

A married couple appears in today's scripture passage.

We are the well-known couple Priscilla and Aquila, prominent church leaders from Romans chapter 16.

We likely remember well that this couple played the role of lifelong partners in the Apostle Paul's important evangelistic ministry.

In Romans 16:3-4, it says, "They even laid down their necks for my life," and the Apostle Paul confesses and introduces them as a couple who were able to lay down their lives for him.

And it was not just for a moment or a single time, but a partner who worked together for the evangelist and pastor for a lifetime.

As the title of today's message suggests, he was a lifelong partner.

However, what we must not overlook is that the foundation for the lifelong partnership with the evangelist Paul was the sense of lifelong companionship shared between Priscilla and her husband.

Although we are a married couple, we held the mindset that 'we are partners, partners moving forward in one direction and toward one goal.'

That is why we often refer to them as the Briss couple.

Aquila is the husband and Priscilla is the wife, but there is a reason why the wife's name is called first.

Usually, the husband's name comes first and the wife's name is mentioned later, so the fact that the wife's name came first means that she was more active in ministry.

However, this ministry was possible because her husband, Aquila, fully supported Priscilla's ministry.

In particular, the couple Priscillas are always mentioned side by side in the Bible.

They are never mentioned separately but always together, which shows that they shared a sense of partnership and had the same faith and goals for the gospel and the Kingdom of God throughout their lives.

It is truly a beautiful sight of a couple.

In this way, Priscilla and Aquila were lifelong partners to each other, and not only between a husband and wife, but in the Gospel, we are all one family.

We are one family and one brotherhood spiritually in the gospel.

I believe that when pastors and congregants always maintain a sense of partnership and move forward toward a common goal and direction, oneness will naturally be achieved.

We want to confess together.

I will look at the people next to me and greet them by saying, "We are lifelong partners."

We are lifelong partners. Amen.

I believe that when we move forward together with this spiritual consciousness, every single saint will live a life used for the precious work of evangelizing 237 nations and 5,000 people groups.

I believe that God will give such evidence to your lives and our church.

Those who lived with this sense of partnership, especially the early church believers, had a distinctive characteristic.

Today, as we examine those four characteristics, I bless you in the name of the Lord that the grace may come upon you to think, 'I, too, must have such a heart and attitude, and be used throughout my life with a sense of partnership in the evangelization of 237 nations and 5,000 ethnic groups.'

First of all, they were worshipers.

These people continued to strive to gather.

At that time, it was difficult to gather because of severe persecution.

Being completely condemned as a heretic made the very act of gathering extremely difficult, and I was also experiencing significant difficulties in my social life.

However, their faith was not to be afraid of such situations or people.

They feared God and wanted to live before God.

Fearing God means that the faith that 'I must truly live before God' was greater than persecution and oppression.

The first goal in the life of a believer living before God is worship.

Coming to worship every week is no ordinary decision.

The fact that you can continue to come to this place is possible only with faith. Amen.

They had the faith to live before God.

If we have faith that longs for worship, I believe that God will open a way for us even amidst any problems, difficulties, and persecution.

A young man I know was working at a job where he had to work even on Sundays.

Although he was in a situation where he could not rest on Sundays, that young man had a clear intention to live before God.

Just like the saying, "Where there is a will, there is a way," I continued to pray with faith.

"God, I must keep the Lord's Day holy, and my top priority is worship. I must never miss worship."

God aligned everything with that young man's prayer.

He testified that after he prayed with such a confession, God changed his work situation and led him to a workplace where he could worship on Sundays, and it was a confession that held great meaning for us.

Everyone, I believe that no matter what problems or persecution come our way, if we move forward with worship as our top priority, God will surely open a way even in those situations.

When you move forward with faith, you can overcome everything.

Therefore, I believe that worship should always be in our hands and hearts.

I believe that is the way for you to live and the way for our future generations to live.

There is another characteristic of these people. They were people of prayer.

Prayer is an expression of humility before God.

“I will live by God’s grace and strength.” That expression is precisely prayer.

“God, I am a being who absolutely cannot function without receiving Your grace and strength.” This is the very essence of a person of prayer.

Therefore, we must always strive to pray. Those who rely on God are always in prayer.

However, everyone, if you do not rely on God, you do not need to pray.

Only those who realize, ‘I can truly live only by the grace and strength given by God,’ are able to pray.

We are beings who absolutely cannot function without God's grace and strength.

So, everyone, please communicate with God. I hope that as you continue to restore your relationship with God and communicate with Him, you will become a person of true prayer.

Another important point is that you must not miss the Word while praying.

The Word and prayer are like the weights on both sides of a scale.

So, without the Word, prayer keeps going in a different direction.

The reason pastors continue to emphasize evangelism and missions from the pulpit, and to constantly stress the work that pleases God and desires, is precisely for the sake of your prayers.

Therefore, I hope you will stay involved in evangelism and missions, even for the sake of your prayers.

We must hold fast to the Word and continue to pray amidst evangelism and missions, ensuring that the direction of our lives and the purpose of our prayers are for the Kingdom of God.

These people of the early church could not have prayed to the end without the Lord's word, that is, this promise.

If it were you, would you have been able to endure and pray to the end in a situation like this? It would have been impossible without the promise and the Word.

Prayer is spiritual breathing. If we do not pray, we lose our spiritual strength.

That is why we breathe spiritually 24 hours a day. We must continue to communicate with God and continuously gain spiritual strength.

Then what happens? The power of the throne comes upon us. We become empowered by the power that God gives from the throne.

If we continue to breathe spiritually 24 hours a day and rely on the power of the throne given from above, it leads to the blessing of the 25th hour, and every life lived in that blessing of prayer becomes a life that leaves behind a masterpiece.

In this way, wherever you go, you will continue to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

The saints of the early church and this Priscilla couple continued to bear fruit wherever they went, leaving behind works for the church and the evangelism movement.

Prayer moves the hand of the great God. We are not great, but when we pray, the hand of the great God is moved.

Everyone, I hope you truly understand the secret of this prayer and become people who pray with faith.

I bless you in the name of the Lord that we may continue to pray with faith so that God’s great hand may continue to appear in our field, and that although we are not great, through prayer that moves the great hand of God, we may be used for great works.

What is more important while praying is whether I have aligned my direction with God. This is more important.

God's plan is fulfilled when we pray; in a sense, prayer can be seen as laying down all the plans I have made and entering into God's plan.

We are flawed and fragile beings who cannot see even an inch ahead of our lives.

Therefore, I believe we must faithfully receive God's guidance in prayer. We must look to the future in prayer and faithfully receive God's guidance and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

And the characteristic of a praying person is that they do not easily fall into temptation.

There are many trials in life. Many believers struggle with these trials, and most of them encounter them through work, service and dedication, or people.

However, the truth is that God's work and service can only be done with faith. It is not something that can be done by my own strength and ability.

Therefore, I hope you will pray. It is the person who prays who becomes devoted to God, and it is the person who prays who can do God's work perfectly.

The situation of the early church at that time was such that environmental crises and hardships were bound to continue, and various conflicts were inevitable in life as well.

How much internal conflict must one experience in a situation where one is truly persecuted for believing in Jesus? ‘Should I really walk this path? Should I really believe in Jesus and stake my life on this?’ How many moments of internal conflict must there have been?

However, a person of prayer is not tested by such situations amidst crisis and hardship, but rather looks to God.

It is not about being put to the test, but rather looking to God and receiving an answer.

Everyone, please look to God.

A person who truly looks to God and prays receives an answer through those trials and problems. This means that an important answer lies within them. You receive an answer through the problems.

When difficulties arise, you can simply think, "Ah, this is a timetable for me to pray importantly before God right now."

When problems and crises arise, if you think, ‘Ah, now is the time for me to receive an answer to my prayer,’ you will not be weighed down by your circumstances but will transcend them and go beyond all those situations to enter into God’s plan.

Because there were such leaders in the early church, they were able to overcome all tribulations and persecutions.

I hope you become a person of prayer. I hope you receive the blessing of becoming a person of prayer.

Thirdly, they were ministers of the Word. This means they believed in and enjoyed the power of the Word.

The words of Genesis 1:3-4 are fulfilled exactly as written.

God said, "Let there be light," and there was light; and as this word is proclaimed, the word is fulfilled.

I believe that the Word has such tremendous power.

Isaiah 40:8 says, "The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever." Amen.

John 1:1-11, the Word of God has the power to give us life.

Everyone, I actually experienced coming to life the moment God's Word entered my spiritual state of being tired, exhausted, and very weary; as that Word became life and the light of life entered, I came to live.

Therefore, I believe in the power of such words.

When I am spiritually struggling and facing difficulties, because this Word of God enters me and this light comes upon me, I am revived and gain tremendous strength.

I truly believe in the power of the Word. Amen.

I hope you believe in the power of the Word.

Hebrews 4:12, the Word is alive.

Therefore, it has the ability to heal our mind, soul, and body.

It is believing in the tremendous power of the Word.

Because they were disciples who knew the power of this word, they staked their lives on the word.

Where in our lives should we stake our lives?

Everyone, please stake your life on the true words.

Those who have experienced the power of the Word have no choice but to stake their lives on the Word.

And what did they do well?

We did not stop at listening to the message; we personalized the message.

In other words, it means that I have accurately grasped the word that God gives me.

Everyone, the 66 books of the Bible are the written Word, and this Word must be experienced by me.

Wherever you go, you will confidently convey the word that has been experienced.

If I held onto the message this week, "God's thoughts are greater than human thoughts," and realized that there is a truly greater plan of God, and if I experienced this message in the field amidst all my work, then you will go forth with conviction and convey that message.

I hope you find my word within the message proclaimed every week.

Then that word will surely be fulfilled.

If you hold onto the covenant, the word is bound to be fulfilled.

And they came to discover the secret of the gospel in the Word.

Everyone, the 66 books of the Bible do not refer to anything else.

The 66 books of the Bible tell us that "Jesus is the Christ."

He properly knew the secret of the gospel that Jesus is the Christ, and he conveyed this secret of the gospel.

Christ washed away all our sins.

Christ delivered us from death. Amen.

Christ has freed us from the power of Satan.

Therefore, Christ is our Savior.

Christ is the Gospel.

It is good news for us.

So, by preaching this Christ, he restored, healed, and saved many people.

And they knew a great spiritual secret.

I knew that the visible world is not everything, but that there is an invisible spiritual world.

So I enjoyed this spiritual world.

I enjoyed this spiritual secret.

That is why you have started to see people around you who are currently suffering without even realizing it.

As I enjoyed this spiritual world and spiritual secrets, I came to see that the problems of this world are problems of being separated from God.

"Ah, they do not need anything else, but only Jesus Christ." This is what was revealed.

"Christ must enter that soul." This was revealed because I enjoyed the spiritual world and spiritual secrets.

It has been revealed that there is a history of darkness, and now there is a history of Satan.

So right now, there are so many people around us who are trapped in darkness and suffering.

I believe that as we enjoy the spiritual world and spiritual secrets, and convey the necessity, absoluteness, and inevitability of Christ, the exact same healing work that took place in the early church will occur right here in your field.

So, wherever you open the Bible, you are ready to preach the gospel.

They continued to enjoy the gospel in their daily lives.

It is not a gospel that ends merely in words, but one that continues to enjoy the gospel in your daily life. As you continue to enjoy Christ, as you continue to enjoy this tremendous spiritual blessing, and as you continue to experience knowing and enjoying the status and authority of being a child of God, you will come to experience that you are different from the people of the world.

You are different from the people of the world. You cannot be compared.

You are children of God who possess tremendous spiritual secrets and spiritual blessings.

I believe that you are a child of God enjoying that status and authority. Amen.

It means that they continued to enjoy the Gospel in their lives to the extent that the world could see, "Ah, those people are truly with God," and that they were praised for it.

Dear saints, I hope you enjoy the Gospel to the extent that it resolves everything. Amen.

The Gospel is the solver of all problems.

I believe that the answer lies in the Gospel.

So you just need to enjoy that answer. You just need to enjoy that gospel.

Let's greet the people next to us. "I am the one who holds the answer."

You are the one who has the answer.

Continue to enjoy Christ, because the answer to any problem is in the Gospel.

We are people who have the Gospel.

A person who possesses the Gospel is someone who can give answers and save many people through the Gospel.

I am a person who possesses the gospel that can break the darkness.

I am a person who possesses the gospel that can heal many sick people.

The answer to everything in your life is the Gospel.

I hope you return today having grasped that answer once again.

The ministers who saved people with this gospel were none other than Priscilla and her husband, and the saints of the early church.

The saints of the early church had this gospel message.

We also need to have this gospel message.

I hope you all keep the message of the Gospel.

Therefore, I hope you stand as a minister of the Gospel and the Word who truly enjoys Christ, the real solver of all life's problems, to the extent that He is continuously confessed from your lips in any situation, and He continues to come to mind even when you are touched anywhere on your body.

Finally, these people loved the church.

This is the part we need to focus on today.

He was a disciple who truly loved the church, the body of the Lord.

Let us greet the people next to us by saying, "Let us become disciples who love the church, the body of the Lord."

The love of the church is the love of the Lord.

The love of the Lord is loving a fellow worker in faith.

We are lifelong partners.

Loving our lifelong partners is loving the Gospel and loving the church.

The couple who set an example here were Priscilla and Aquila.

Everyone, what kind of church is ours?

First, we need to get to know our church.

Our church is a church with three courtyards.

Our church is a church that has a courtyard capable of healing the sick.

It is a church with a courtyard that heals them with the Gospel and raises them up as summits.

We are a church that missions 237 nations and 5,000 ethnic groups.

We believe that we are a church with a garden that saves future generations, raises them to become summits, and prevents future disasters.

I believe that God will continue to open doors toward 237, healing, and the summit.

We must know what kind of church ours is and understand how the church is currently heading.

It is not simply a matter of me receiving grace and strength alone; you must understand how this church is currently moving and what it needs.

Your attention must be there.

I want my attention to be where the church goes and where it is needed.

If you look at the Bible, all the disciples who were used loved the church.

A saint is born in the church, lives their entire life in the church, and concludes their life in the church.

That is the life of a saint, and it is a true and blessed life.

The couple who devoted themselves to the church were none other than the Priscilla couple.

It became a model of loving the church.

Everyone, I bless you to become such a model.

I hope you receive the blessing of being role models to the extent that, in the distant future, our descendants will think, 'I, too, must truly love the church and believe in Jesus just like them.'

Let's bless the people next to us by saying, "You have been called to be a model."

What were their occupations?

It was a tent-making business.

They were tent makers, but they did not do this business simply for a living.

They used this work for evangelism and missionary work.

I have had that mindset from the beginning.

It was not a matter of thinking, "Let's evangelize and do missions after I prosper and receive answers to prayer and succeed," but rather, from the very beginning of starting a business or any endeavor, I set my heart on this, saying, "I will let this work be used for the sake of evangelism and missions."

I hope the purpose of your life is evangelism and missions.

Is it correct for young people to say, "I am getting married because of evangelism"?

you're right.

Why save the family?

It is to save my family so that they may be used for evangelism and missions.

Why do we raise and establish the next generation?

It is to raise up the next generation so that they may be used for evangelism and missions.

We must raise the next generation as missionary disciples and evangelistic disciples.

That is why what is continuously emphasized from the pulpit is evangelism and missions, and the gospel is continuously emphasized.

This is the purpose for which humans were created, and the purpose for which God created us.

Evangelism and missions are the purpose of our creation.

It is not our choice, but the reason we must live and the reason we exist.

I bless you in the name of the Lord that you may be in evangelism and missions.

I bless you in the name of the Lord that you may come to know the reason for creation and discover the reason for your life.

This couple invited the evangelist to their home and had him stay there.

I realized just how precious an evangelist is.

How precious is an evangelist who possesses the Gospel?

Because the Gospel is precious, the evangelist who possesses it is also very precious.

That is why I became a lifelong partner in this ministry.

This gospel is so precious and necessary for me as well, and it needs to be proclaimed and spread; because the evangelist who delivers the gospel is so precious, we became lifelong partners in ministry, and a meeting of the times took place.

To what extent did these people dedicate themselves?

I offered my neck.

To lay down one's life was a complete and total devotion that required no ordinary decision.

His own benefit was not the priority.

I thought not about self-centeredness, my own benefit, or for my family or myself, but about what is beneficial to the Gospel, the church, and evangelism and missions.

The Briss couple had a life that was bound to be completely blessed.

I pray that God's grace will come upon the lives of all our saints so that they may be beneficial to the Gospel, rather than prioritizing their own benefit.

I want you to realize this.

It is extremely important.

The church comes first, and the gospel comes first.

Putting a house on the market is really not an easy task.

It means that they recognized the church's needs.

Please ask the real question of what the church needs.

What does this church need?

God, though small, I will devote myself here. Though unworthy, I will devote myself here.

God sees such a heart.

I believe that God will work in such a heart.

This couple also helped Apollos.

We have raised this next generation of Remnants so that they can properly convey the Word.

Where should our lives be?

I believe that the future of our church lies with the Remnants.

We must devote ourselves to raising these remnants.

Thanks to your hard work all this time, aren't our Remnants continuing to rise up now?

Amen? How grateful are you?

Our future generations are rising up like this, so saying that we love this church is not merely an emotion.

It is not merely a matter of emotion, but that we must demonstrate a genuine commitment to building the church, even if small.

Everyone, haven't you dedicated yourselves greatly? Haven't you protected this church until now?

That is correct. You just need to do that much. You just need to do as much as you have been doing so far.

Please serve the church to the end without wavering or moving.

You just need to become the center of the church. You just need to become a pillar of the church.

"If you have the mindset that 'I will truly become a pillar of this church, I will become the true center of this church to be a model for our future generations, and a true model of faith for our future generations,' that is all that matters."

I believe that God will work in such a heart.

Therefore, I hope you will pray for this platform that truly raises future generations, diverse ethnic groups, and those in need of healing into spiritual summits.

I feel true happiness as I continue to plan this platform, receive wisdom from God, implement it, and be guided together with you.

I am so happy. Are you all happy?

Where does our sense of fulfillment lie? This is, everyone, something that brings lasting happiness. It will become even happier as time goes by.

How much happiness does it bring us to build this platform, piece by piece, for future generations, diverse ethnic groups, and those in need of healing?

Is this happiness for you?

So, as we pray, if God answers or gives us His heart, we take action and make a small commitment.

Furthermore, they truly aligned their direction with evangelism and missions, carrying out these activities centered around this church.

Everyone, God does missionary work through the church.

Because they are doing the work of building God's kingdom through the church, this couple conducted missions centered on the church so that the blessings of evangelism and missions could continue to come upon the church.

This couple also went beyond one region.

I did not stay only where I was, but knowing that God’s plan was in my place, I continued the movement of the Word there; furthermore, I supported Paul’s ministry for the evangelization of the whole world and this world, and I enjoyed the blessing of establishing branch churches and holding camps in various places.

Beloved saints, while one region is important, I hope you will enjoy the blessing of having such a partner, just like Priscilla and her husband, who became Paul's co-workers and could truly go beyond one region toward the whole world and the evangelization of this world.

Therefore, I hope that your lives will be used for the work that truly pleases and desires God.

"God always works centered on the church, and through those who love the church, God saves the times." I pray in the name of the Lord that you may have a blessed life like this.

This is the conclusion.

Where was Paul martyred? Wasn't he martyred in Rome?

Based on the biblical records, this couple, Priscilla and her husband, went to Rome together and were martyred there together. In short, they were guided to become lifelong partners.

There are many people I want to see when I go to heaven. I really miss this Brisga couple.

I am really curious about how these people lived their lives. What kind of people were they?

Today, I ask you, everyone: 'Do you love the church?'

Please ask yourselves: 'Do I love the church? Do I truly love the gospel movement?'

Please ask yourselves this question: 'Do I really love the Gospel?'

The answer is that you must come to worship. Therefore, I ask that you first stand as a worshipper.

I bless you in the name of the Lord that you ask yourselves these questions and make a small resolution: 'Even if I cannot do anything else, I will first stand as a worshipper for this church; I will become a person who truly prays for this church; even if I cannot do anything else, I will at least meditate on the Word properly; even if I cannot do anything else, I will at least lead a proper worship life; even if I cannot do anything else, I will become a disciple who loves the church.'

Therefore, I bless you in the name of the Lord that you may walk the path of grace to become a lifelong partner in the church and a lifelong partner in the evangelist.

Thank you, God.

Just as Priscilla and her husband became lifelong partners in the church and evangelists who possessed the Gospel, please grant God's grace so that each and every one of our saints may take the secrets and this important decision held by them and become a lifelong partner—a partner in this church, a partner in pastors, a partner in evangelists, and a partner to one another.

During this week, please allow us to see God's plans and will in the numerous fields of evangelism and missions. Please bless and guide us so that our lives may truly be blessed, enabling us to align our direction toward evangelism and missions.

I pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
